Traditional single tank water softeners are susceptible to running out of softened water. This is most common in homes with high water usages or extremely poor water quality. Additionally, single tank systems do not provide softened water during the regeneration cycle. Twin tank water softeners have a fresh tank ready to switch to allowing for continuous softened water regardless of the demand, water quality or time of day.

Unlike single tank systems that require a day of softened water in reserve, twin tank systems utilize all of the softened water it has available leading to reduced salt and water consumption.

Twin tank water softening systems regenerate with treated water allowing the softening resin to last longer under poor water quality.
